Co-led by AME Cloud Ventures and Webb Investment Network, with participation from Y Combinator and industry leaders, we're accelerating our mission to transform law enforcement technology.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – June 30, 2025 – Code Four, the AI-powered platform transforming how law enforcement and public safety agencies generate reports based off body-worn camera (BWC) footage, today announced a $2.6 million seed funding round co-led by AME Cloud Ventures and Webb Investment Network, with participation from Y Combinator, Blast VC, CRV, E14, Halo Labs, ISeed Ventures, Nivesha Ventures, Pathlight Ventures, Unpopular Ventures, Venrex, and strategic angel investors.

Transforming Public Safety Through AI

Founded by MIT dropouts Dylan Nguyen and George Cheng, Code Four uses advanced computer vision and natural language processing to automatically transcribe body camera footage, generate incident reports, and manage digital evidence. The platform reduces report writing time, allowing officers to spend more time serving their communities.

Building Responsibly

Code Four's approach to AI in law enforcement prioritizes privacy, transparency, and community trust at every level.

Privacy and Security

We implement end-to-end encryption for all data transmission and storage, ensuring that sensitive information remains protected throughout its lifecycle. Our platform features automatic redaction capabilities for sensitive information, protecting both officer and citizen privacy. All infrastructure is built to meet CJIS compliance standards, guaranteeing the highest level of security for law enforcement data.

Transparency and Accountability

Our explainable AI technology provides clear reasoning for every decision made, ensuring that officers and supervisors understand how conclusions are reached. Complete audit trails track all actions within the system, creating an immutable record for review and accountability. We require human review for all critical decisions, maintaining the essential human element in law enforcement while leveraging AI for efficiency. Our AI capabilities and limitations are openly documented, promoting trust through transparency.

Community Trust

Code Four was built with extensive input from community advocates, ensuring our technology serves the broader public interest. The platform is designed to enhance police transparency by making accurate documentation easier and more consistent. We support public records requests with automated redaction features that protect privacy while promoting openness. Most importantly, our technology promotes accurate, unbiased documentation of incidents, helping build trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Use of Funds

The $2.6 million seed round will accelerate Code Four's growth across three strategic areas:

1. Advanced Computer Vision Development

We're investing heavily in real-time object detection and tracking capabilities that will help officers quickly identify and catalog important evidence. Our automated evidence tagging and categorization system will streamline the investigative process, while multi-camera synchronization and analysis will provide comprehensive scene reconstruction from multiple body camera perspectives. Enhanced facial and license plate redaction technology will ensure privacy compliance while maintaining investigative integrity.

2. Natural Language Processing Enhancement

Our NLP roadmap includes multi-language transcription support to serve diverse communities across the United States. We're developing context-aware report generation that understands the nuances of different incident types and automatically adapts its output accordingly. Sentiment analysis capabilities will provide valuable insights for de-escalation training, while custom department terminology learning ensures our system adapts to each agency's unique vocabulary and procedures.

3. Market Expansion

We're building integration partnerships with major Records Management System (RMS) providers to ensure seamless workflow integration for departments. Our support team is expanding to provide 24/7 coverage, ensuring officers have help whenever they need it. We're also developing mobile-first solutions for field reporting, allowing officers to complete reports directly from their patrol vehicles or on scene.

About Code Four

Code Four is building the future of public safety technology. Our AI-powered platform helps law enforcement agencies reduce paperwork, improve accuracy, and spend more time serving their communities. Founded in 2025 by MIT engineers Dylan Nguyen and George Cheng, Code Four is backed by Y Combinator and serves police departments across the United States.

The name "Code Four" comes from the police radio code meaning "situation under control" – our mission is to help every officer and department reach that state through intelligent technology.

Looking Forward

"This funding is just the beginning," added George Cheng, CEO and Co-Founder. "We're building technology that will define the next decade of public safety. When officers have the right tools, communities are safer. That's what drives us every day."
